Job summary

Hinds LifeCare in Fresno, CA seeks an MSW Bereavement Support Specialist to join the Center for Grief & Healing. You will provide bereavement risk assessments, counseling, and interventions to grieving families, and participate in care planning based on psychosocial factors.

Responsibilities include home visits, calls to the bereaved, documenting all interactions, offering grief education online, and supporting the LOSS team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work required with 1–3 years of grief counseling experience.
• Experience with grief and loss and clinical counseling preferred.
• Ability to work with health team personnel.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bereavement risk assessments and supportive counseling to grieving families.
• Perform home visits and follow-up phone calls.
• Document all home visits, calls, and staff communications.
• Provide grief education and support online via social media platforms.
• Assist with grant writing for program development.
