The MST (Multi-systemic Therapy) team supports youth aged 12-17.5 in NYC, providing intensive in-home and community-based treatment to facilitate their transition from placement in Close to Home facilities. MST focuses on addressing factors related to juvenile justice involvement across family, peers, school, and neighborhood systems, starting treatment while the youth is still in placement. MST Therapists aim to promote behavior change in the youth’s natural environment by leveraging systemic strengths, fostering personal responsibility, education, work ethic, community responsibility, and an intolerance of violence and prejudice.
Qualifications include a Master’s Degree in a NYS-licensable field (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, PhD, PsyD, LMFT, LMHC), bilingual in English and Spanish, clinical experience in therapies such as DBT, family systems, social ecological, CBT, behavioral therapies, and MST certification (training provided upon hire). Availability for 24/7 on-call rotation is required.
Position Details: Full-time, 35 hours/week, flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. The therapist must be available by phone and willing to schedule sessions at convenient times for families. Weekly group supervision in the office is expected.
Travel: The role involves travel within NYC boroughs, with work-related expenses reimbursed.
