Job summary

WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Mining Construction Safety Lead to oversee onsite construction activities for a large mining project. This full-time role prefers candidates from Nevada, Utah, or locations near major mining projects, offering travel per diem for distant candidates.

The candidate will lead safety program development and ensure compliance with regulations, conduct risk assessments, and mentor junior staff. A Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management and 7-10 years of safety management experience in mining is preferred, alongside MSHA certification.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of hands-on safety management experience in mining settings.
• Strong preference for candidates with both open pit and underground mining experience.
• MSHA certification required; other safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of safety programs.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of the mining EPCM practice.
