Job summary

Waymo LLC in Mountain View, CA is offering a hybrid onsite internship in data engineering for the Planner Evaluation team. You will develop data pipelines and build data infrastructure to support ML evaluation for the Waymo Driver.

We're seeking graduate students in CS/SE with hands-on experience in distributed systems and production-grade C++ or Python, plus strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred exposure to SQL and ad-hoc data analysis.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
• Distributed Systems: Hands-on experience with systems that ingest, store, transform, and output data at scale.
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in C++ or Python within a production environment.
• Communication: Strong technical communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop data pipelines to generate high-quality ML and evaluation datasets for Waymo Driver software.
• Design and implement robust tools and infrastructure for data mining, exploration and analysis.
• Architect and maintain large-scale data platforms to process logs and simulation data.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Science and Quantitative Analytics teams to build data infrastructure solutions.
