The New School is seeking a Media Management Student Assistant to support an academic program with administrative, communications, and event duties. Reporting to the Program Administrator or Director, the role balances independent work with teamwork in a fast-paced university setting.
Responsibilities include helping with databases, social media content, newsletters, and brochure production, while ensuring timely communication with students, faculty, alumni, and external guests on campus.
The Media Management Student Assistant will support an academic program within the university by providing essential administrative, communications, and event support. Reporting to the Program Administrator or Program Director, depending on assignment, the Student Assistant will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, supporting students and faculty, and creating and contributing to public-facing communications. The successful candidate will be highly organized, collaborative, able to complete assigned tasks independently, and comfortable balancing administrative tasks with creative and interpersonal work in a fast-paced academic environment.
On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on campus during regularly scheduled work hours because the work cannot be performed remotely without being infeasible or not in the best interest of the organization. #LI-DNI
Work hours are not fixed and may vary from week to week based on program needs. Student Assistants will support events taking place throughout the semester and should have some flexibility in their availability to accommodate scheduled program events.
$18 per hour
