Job summary

RYSS Texas Public Schools at RYSS Early College at Broadway in Houston, TX seeks a Teacher Assistant to support teachers and students under supervision. Responsibilities include small-group or one-on-one instruction, assisting with classroom management, and supervising students during meals and activities.

The role requires Educational Aide certification or equivalent coursework, or an associate's degree, or THEA-based qualification.

Qualifications

Educational Aide certificate required as per State Board for Educator Certification.
At least two years of college coursework (48 semester hours).
An associate's degree or higher, or demonstrated THEA knowledge.

Responsibilities

Assists teacher(s) with student academic goals, by working with small groups of children or an individual child
Assists teacher(s) in the enforcement of classroom management and behavioral plans, creating an environment that is appropriate for learning.
Assists with supervising students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, special events, and programs.
Assists teacher(s) in the preparation of paperwork for the ARD/IEP process. Collects and enters data for completion of special education reports and documents.
Assists teacher(s) with the planning, preparation and implementation of differentiated instruction for individual students and groups.
Performs other campus duties as assigned.
