Job summary

Collier County Public Schools is seeking mentors for MS basketball coaching supplements. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED, plus a reference letter (not required for CCPS staff).

They must hold current Florida educator certification or athletic coaching certification, with a teaching certificate exempting the coaching credential, and demonstrate completion of the Basic Life Support program (First Aid, CPR, AED).

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED (minimum requirement).
• 1 Reference Letter (this does not apply to current CCPS staff).

The Florida Department of Education issues two types of Athletic Coaching Certificates:

1. 3-Year Temporary Certificate (Issued ONLY to give a coach the opportunity to complete the requirements for the 5-Year Certificate. It is NOT renewable.)
2. 5-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate

WHO NEEDS IT?

• Coaches who are paid a supplement from the school District but DO NOT hold a Temporary or Professional Educator Certificate.
• Volunteer Coaches who are employees of the Collier County Public Schools, but do not hold a Temporary or Professional Educator’s Certification.
