Job summary

Sun Chemical in Alabama seeks an experienced MRP Controller to plan and coordinate production schedules, manage material requirements, inventory, and shipping activities to meet customer demand efficiently.

You will work closely with Production, Logistics, Customer Service and other plant departments to support daily operations, lead physical inventories, oversee SAP data, and ensure accurate planning and documentation across the site.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
• 3+ years in inventory planning and control or production scheduling.
• Strong problem-solving for delays, shortages and data accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with proven accuracy and results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production plans and finite schedules for the site by coordinating balance between production and quality requirements and capacity.
• Manage MRP and inventory activities, coordinate shipments and align resources to meet customer requirements while maximizing operational efficiency.
• Liaise between site and internal customer service regarding orders, updates to production and shipping statuses; manage site communications.
• Determine daily shipping priorities, direct shipping/receiving, prepare paperwork (e.g., Bill of Lading, Packing Sheets) and enter SAP transactions.
• Lead physical inventory process and investigations into discrepancies; process SAP transactions related to inventory, scheduling, and shipments.
• Interact with all plant operations (production, logistics, maintenance, etc.) and handle related paperwork; clerical duties as assigned.
