Job summary

Comlux America, a VIP aircraft completion and refurbishment center in Indianapolis, seeks a skilled MRO Structures Technician to assemble, install, modify, and repair aircraft structures and surfaces. You will follow engineering data, manuals, and procedures to deliver high-quality workmanship while maintaining accurate records and safety standards.

Under supervision, you’ll collaborate with Structures Lead, Engineering, and Quality teams to support maintenance and completion schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical schooling preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of aircraft structures installation, repair, modification, or fabrication experience.
• Experience with sheet metal and aircraft structural work including drilling, riveting, alignment, fitting, and installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, maintenance documentation, and technical instructions.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

Role Description

Under general supervision, the MRO Structures Technician performs the assembly, installation, modification, and repair of internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces in support of VIP aircraft maintenance and completion projects. The position performs structural work in accordance with approved engineering data, aircraft maintenance manuals, company procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.The MRO Structures Technician is responsible for producing quality workmanship, maintaining accurate documentation, and completing assigned tasks safely and efficiently while working closely with the Structures Lead, Engineering, Quality, and other production and maintenance teams.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform aircraft structural assembly, installation, modification, and repair activities under general supervision.

• Accurately lay out, size, drill, ream, and prepare holes for riveting and other structural fasteners in accordance with engineering data and approved procedures.

• Install rivets, fasteners, sheet metal, and structural components using properly calibrated, tagged, and identified tools and equipment.

• Align and assemble structural components using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, fasteners, and other approved methods.

• Perform structural repairs and modifications to aircraft components and surfaces in accordance with approved engineering data, maintenance manuals, drawings, and applicable procedures.

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, maintenance documentation, and other technical data required to perform assigned work.

• Inspect completed work to verify proper fit, alignment, workmanship, and compliance with applicable requirements.

• Utilize appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and technical resources to accurately and efficiently complete assigned work.

• Complete all required maintenance records, sign-offs, component removal and installation documentation, and other required records at the time work is performed.

• Ensure all regulatory and quality documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with the Comlux Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM), company procedures, and other applicable quality standards.

• Maintain proper identification and control of tools, equipment, materials, and components used during aircraft structural work.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow company requirements for housekeeping, aircraft protection, tool control, and equipment operation.

• Comply with all applicable safety requirements and safely operate specialized tools, equipment, and machinery.

• Communicate technical issues, material concerns, tooling requirements, or other obstacles to the Structures Lead or appropriate team member.

• Work collaboratively with Structures, Engineering, Production, Quality, and other functional teams to support aircraft maintenance and completion schedules.

• Participate in on-the-job training and continuously develop knowledge of aircraft structures, tools, materials, processes, and company procedures.

• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and structural work processes and communicate recommendations to leadership.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required. Relevant technical or trade school education preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years of aircraft structures installation, repair, modification, or fabrication experience; experience in corporate aviation, VIP aircraft completions, or MRO preferred.

• Experience performing sheet metal and aircraft structural work, including drilling, riveting, alignment, fitting, and installation of structural components.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, maintenance documentation, and technical instructions.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to read, interpret, and apply blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation with appropriate guidance.

• Working knowledge of aircraft structural installation, repair, riveting, drilling, fitting, and alignment practices.

• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and specialized aircraft structures tooling safely and effectively.

• Ability to apply routine mathematical calculations and measurements to resolve work-related issues.

• Ability to comprehend, retain, and apply on-the-job training and technical instruction.

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and regulatory compliance.

• Self-motivated and dependable with the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks.

This position is based in an aircraft hangar environment and may involve:
