Job description

This role is intended to focus on establishing, elevating, and promoting the systematic stocking of critical spare parts and frequently used items at this facility. The Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) Specialist will be focused on targets that are less than one month out and is regarded as a complement to our talented reliability team that focuses daily/weekly work execution.

Areas of Accountabilities

Safety focused culture amongst the maintenance and reliability teams.

  • Active participation in the plant’s safety engagement program
Critical Spares Inventory
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to determine what components are to be considered “critical” and at what quantity they should be stocked.
  • Utilize the Asset Criticality Ranking to determine priority of focus.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory or critical spares and NSP items.
  • Follow the purchasing process to seek replacement when items are utilized.
Purchasing
  • Cradle to grave responsibility to the purchase of goods and services to support Production, Reliability, and Engineering.
  • Research goods and services to find the best market value for the company.
  • Interface with sales associates and company representatives.
  • Assist with returns and warranty claims.
  • Ensure invoices are paid in a timely fashion
  • Keep control of Reliability Accounts to avoid Overspending.
Spare Parts Storage and Housekeeping
  • Create and maintain organized and labeled storage for spares and goods
  • Follow the national standard for CMMS inventory and labeling.
  • Ensure that OEM best practices for storage are being followed.
  • Routinely audit physical inventory or accuracy and address corrections.
Job Planning and Kitting
  • Work with the Maintenance & Tooling Managers to ensure all needed parts, tools, and supplies are available before the scheduled job.
  • Ensure that proper safe work documentation and procedures are present within the job plan.
  • Drive part/tool kitting for planned work and look for opportunities for proactive repair kitting.
  • Further refine maintenance and mold team’s repair and installation techniques.
  • Audit work in-progress to ensure the standards are being followed.
Work Documentation
  • Drive and promote work-order based maintenance.
  • Maintain a list of vendor contacts.
  • Ensure proper feedback is being recorded
  • Find opportunities to further leverage the CMMS capabilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (any course of study)
  • ERP experience preferably JDE
  • CMMS experience in planning and scheduling
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and advance level of excel: Macros, Reports, formulas, conditional formatting
  • Previous maintenance experience as a technician, preferred.
  • Knowledge on mechanical and electrical components, preferred
  • Previous experience at a manufacturing facility, especially in purchasing, materials, inventory or scheduling, preferred.
