Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an MRI Technologist for Weekend Days at Bell Hospital. The role involves producing high-quality MR images, ensuring patient safety, and supporting radiology department goals.

The position requires MR imaging education and ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification within 180 days, plus BLS. Responsibilities include patient preparation, venipuncture, selecting MR pulse sequences, image quality control, and educating students and staff.

Qualifications

• Radiologic Technology AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology or MR Imaging program.
• Completion of ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification within 180 days after hire.
• BLS/ACLS certification (AHA) required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy and physiology and MR technique.
• Prepare patients for MR procedures and assist during examinations.
• Perform venipuncture and manage intravenous access.
• Select pulse sequences per established protocols to optimize data acquisition.
• Evaluate images for quality and correct patient identification.
• Adhere to MR safety guidelines per ACR and institutional policies.
• Identify and respond to emergencies and participate in ongoing QA and education.
• Educate and supervise students and other health care providers.
• Additional duties as assigned.
