Description

Summary:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist will perform routine and advanced imaging procedures, support other imaging technologists, and facilitate patient flow. The Technologist must be flexible to work different shifts and campuses, troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve image processing and archiving issues. Ongoing education, safety, and technical updates within licensure scope are expected. The incumbent will perform MRI safety screening, maintenance, and repairs, and adhere to imaging competencies and organizational values.

• Perform examinations to support patient throughput within scope and competencies.
• Work flexible shifts and at different campuses as needed.
• Ensure exams are correctly stored in PACS and follow downtime procedures.
• Report equipment malfunctions and follow up accordingly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills

• Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent.

Experience

• Preferred: 1 year hospital or clinical experience.
• Basic computer skills required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• ARRT or ARMRIT MRI certification required within 1 year of hire.
• State licensure if applicable (e.g., MRT by MIRTP NMED in New Mexico).
• BLS certification required.
