Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging is seeking an MRI Technologist for PRN coverage at our Bedford Park location. The role focuses on patient safety, image quality, and timely examinations. You will pre-screen for implants, operate MR equipment, and maintain facility sterility.

Ideal candidates are ARRT/ARMRIT registered with MRI experience in a diagnostic setting and CPR-BLS certification. On-site benefits and growth opportunities are available within a supportive team environment.

• Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current knowledge of MR technology and assist in quality control of equipment.
• Ensure patient safety including pre-screening for implants and necessary clearance.
• Sterilize and maintain equipment; keep rooms clean and stocked.
• Administer aseptic injection technique for contrast.
• Explain MRI procedure to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Position patients to obtain correct imaging and document data in charts.
• Promote quality standards and participate in continuous quality improvement.
• Provide education and direction to new technologists.
• Perform imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner as directed by radiologist.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

MRI Technologist (PRN)

Location: Onsite Bedford Park

Days/Hours: Saturday hours available, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and assists in quality control of equipment
• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and researching any necessary clearance
• Sterilize and maintain equipment, maintains cleanliness or rooms and keeps adequate stock of supplies on hand
• Administration of aseptic injection technique for contrast
• Address patient concerns during procedure, and explain MRI procedure using tact, courtesy and poise to reduce anxiety to obtain patient cooperation
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Document radiological services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement
  
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• According to department standards and protocols set by radiologist, perform all job related functions as a MRI Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner, and communicate related information to appropriate physician
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions
