Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a full-time, on-site position. You will operate MR equipment, ensure patient safety, perform pre-screening, and contribute to quality control and image quality.

The role requires MRI certification, ARRT/ARMRIT registration, CPR-BLS, and prior diagnostic radiology experience. Benefits include PTO, medical insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

• Graduate of an accredited MRI certification program.
• ARRT/ARMRIT registered.
• Previous experience in diagnostic radiology/imaging setting.
• Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently.
• CPR- BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and assists in quality control of equipment.
• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and researching necessary clearance.
• Sterilize and maintain equipment, keep rooms clean and stock supplies.
• Administration of aseptic injection technique for contrast.
• Explain MRI procedure to patients and reduce anxiety to obtain cooperation.
• Position patients to obtain correct imaging.
• Document radiological services by recording data in patient charts.
• Ensure quality standards and support continuous quality improvement.
• Provide education and direction to new technologists.
• Perform imaging procedures timely and efficiently as directed by radiologist.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

MRI Technologist (Full-time)

Location: On-site Arlington Heights

Days/Hours: Monday, Tuesday & Friday , 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Wednesday & Thursday 8:00 am- 4:30 pm

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE:

• Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and assists in quality control of equipment
• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and researching any necessary clearance
• Sterilize and maintain equipment, maintains cleanliness or rooms and keeps adequate stock of supplies on hand
• Administration of aseptic injection technique for contrast
• Address patient concerns during procedure, and explain MRI procedure using tact, courtesy and poise to reduce anxiety to obtain patient cooperation
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Document radiological services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• According to department standards and protocols set by radiologist, perform all job related functions as a MRI Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner, and communicate related information to appropriate physician
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions
