Bright Light Medical Imaging in Bedford Park, IL is seeking an MRI Technologist (PRN) to join our physician-led imaging team. This onsite role offers Saturday hours from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and focuses on patient safety, quality imaging, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of MR technology and assist in quality control.
• Prioritize patient safety and screen for implants.
• Sterilize equipment and maintain room cleanliness and stock.
• Administer aseptic injection technique for contrast.
• Explain MRI procedures to patients and reduce anxiety.
• Position patients to obtain correct imaging insights.
• Document radiology services in patient charts.
• Provide education and direction to new technologists.
• Perform imaging procedures timely and communicate with physicians.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

MRI Technologist (PRN)

Location: Onsite Bedford Park

Days/Hours: Saturday hours available, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and assists in quality control of equipment
• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and researching any necessary clearance
• Sterilize and maintain equipment, maintains cleanliness or rooms and keeps adequate stock of supplies on hand
• Administration of aseptic injection technique for contrast
• Address patient concerns during procedure, and explain MRI procedure using tact, courtesy and poise to reduce anxiety to obtain patient cooperation
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Document radiological services by accurately recording data in the patient’s chart
• Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• According to department standards and protocols set by radiologist, perform all job related functions as a MRI Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner, and communicate related information to appropriate physician
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited MRI certification program
• ARRT/ARMRIT registered
• Previous experience in diagnostic radiology/imaging setting
• Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently
• CPR- BLS Certification
