Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging in Melrose Park, IL seeks an MRI Technologist for PRN weekend shifts (Saturday 8:00 am - 2:00 pm; Sunday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm). The role involves MR tech duties, safety checks, patient support, and image acquisition.

On-site practice with opportunities for growth and a collaborative team culture. The candidate should be a graduate of an accredited MRI certification program, ARRT/ARMRIT registered, with prior diagnostic imaging experience and CPR-BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MRI certification program.
• ARRT/ARMRIT registered.
• Previous experience in diagnostic radiology/imaging setting.
• Proficient in running advanced MR studies independently.
• CPR-BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current knowledge of MR technology and assist in QC of equipment.
• Ensure patient safety including pre-screening for implants and clearance.
• Sterilize and maintain equipment, and stock supplies.
• Administer aseptic injection technique for contrast.
• Explain MRI procedures to patients and address questions to reduce anxiety.
• Position patients to obtain correct imaging and document data accurately.
• Ensure quality standards and participate in CQI.
• Provide education and direction to new technologists.
• Perform imaging procedures in a timely, efficient manner.
• Handle other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

MRI Technologist (PRN)

Location: Onsite Melrose Park

Days/Hours: Saturday, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

Days/Hours: Sunday, 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

Overview Of Key Responsibilities:

• Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and assists in quality control of equipment
• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and researching any necessary clearance
• Sterilize and maintain equipment, maintains cleanliness or rooms and keeps adequate stock of supplies on hand
• Administration of aseptic injection technique for contrast
• Address patient concerns during procedure, and explain MRI procedure using tact, courtesy and poise to reduce anxiety to obtain patient cooperation
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Document radiological services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• According to department standards and protocols set by radiologist, perform all job related functions as a MRI Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner, and communicate related information to appropriate physician
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions
