Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging is seeking an MRI Technologist for Saturdays on an on-site basis in Bedford Park. The role emphasizes safety, precise imaging, and patient comfort during MRI procedures.

The position requires ARRT/ARMRIT certification, MRI certification, and CPR-BLS. Experience in diagnostic radiology and independent MR studies is preferred, with opportunities for growth within a physician-led imaging team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MRI certification program.
• ARRT/ARMRIT registration required or equivalent credential.
• Previous experience in diagnostic radiology/imaging setting preferred.
• Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently.
• CPR-BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current knowledge of MR technology and assist in quality control of equipment.
• Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and clearance as needed.
• Sterilize and maintain equipment and keep rooms clean with adequate supplies.
• Administer aseptic injection techniques for contrast.
• Explain MRI procedures with tact to reduce patient anxiety and obtain cooperation.

Location: Onsite Bedford Park

Days/Hours: Saturday hours available, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Employment Type: As needed/PRN

Minimum Experience: Experienced

Compensation: $36.00 - $42.00 / hour

Overview Of Key Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge of MR technology and assists in quality control of equipment
• Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for implants and researching any necessary clearance
• Sterilize and maintain equipment, maintains cleanliness or rooms and keeps adequate stock of supplies on hand
• Administration of aseptic injection technique for contrast
• Address patient concerns during procedure, and explain MRI procedure using tact, courtesy and poise to reduce anxiety to obtain patient cooperation
• Carefully position patients in order to obtain correct imaging
• Document radiological services by accurately recording data in the patient's chart
• Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement
• Provide education, training and direction to new technologists
• According to department standards and protocols set by radiologist, perform all job related functions as a MRI Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner, and communicate related information to appropriate physician
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and walk without restrictions
