Job summary

Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics seeks a PRN MRI Technologist to perform advanced imaging procedures at our Harding Place, Nashville location. You will operate MRI equipment, ensure patient safety, and prepare study data for radiologists using PACS and teleradiology.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, ARRT-certified radiologic technology coursework completion, and BLS certification. Local travel with a valid license is required; you will support imaging needs across our Nashville

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of ARRT-approved radiologic technology coursework.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Must be able to work independently and have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Local travel required with valid driver's license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI equipment to produce cross-sectional images per physician protocol.
• Puts patients at ease and maintains safety and comfort.
• Prepares images, patient history, and paperwork for radiologists' interpretation via PACS and Teleradiology.
• Injects patients with contrast material.
• Stock MRI rooms with necessary materials.
• Completes required paperwork and computer applications.
• Ensures images meet established quality standards.
• Assist staff and enter MRI reports into patient charts.

Position Goal

Performs exceptional imaging procedures using radio frequency waves and strong magnetic fields at a high technical level.

Position Responsibilities

• Operates MRI equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body for diagnostic purposes while taking into account each physician's protocol.
• Puts patients at ease and keeps safety a priority. Keeps patients mentally and physically comfortable.
• Organizes and prepares images/patient history/paperwork for radiologists' interpretation by use offax and Teleradiology via internet.
• Injects patients with contrast material.
• Stocks MRI rooms with appropriate materials.
• Completes appropriate paperwork and computer applications.
• Ensures that images meet the established quality standards.
• Must have command of PACS and be able to assist other staff members as needed.
• Assists with entering MRI reports into patient's charts.

Experience

Preferred

• Two years MRI experience

Education

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.

Special Qualifications

Required

• BLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy
• Basic computer and administrative skills
• Must be able to work independently
• Must display excellent interpersonal skills
• This position requires local travel via personal vehicle so a valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire are required (MVR will be screened on an annual basis.)
