Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics is seeking a PRNMRI Technologist to join our Harding Place—Nashville, TN team. The role involves performing advanced MRI imaging, administering contrast when needed, and ensuring high-quality images for radiologists.

Required are ARRT-approved radiologic coursework and a high school diploma, with two years of MRI experience preferred. Strong patient care, safety, and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of ARRT-approved radiologic technology coursework.
• BLS certification from a recognized provider (AHA or Red Cross).
• Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.
• Basic computer and administrative skills.
• Must work independently and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI equipment to produce cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes according to physician protocols.
• Ensures patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
• Organizes and prepares images and patient history for radiologists’ interpretation via PACS and teleradiology.
• Injects patients with contrast material as required.
• Maintains MRI rooms and stocks with necessary materials.
• Completes paperwork and uses computer systems accurately.
• Ensures image quality meets established standards.
• Assists with entering MRI reports into patient charts.

Position Goal:

Performs exceptional imaging procedures using radio frequency waves and strong magnetic fields at a high technical level.

Position Responsibilities:

Operates MRI equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patient’s body for diagnostic purposes while taking into account each physician’s protocol.

Puts patients at ease and keeps safety a priority. Keeps patients mentally and physically comfortable.

Organizes and prepares images/patient history/paperwork for radiologists’ interpretation by use offax and Teleradiology via internet.

Injects patients with contrast material.

Stocks MRI rooms with appropriate materials.

Completes appropriate paperwork and computer applications.

Ensures that images meet the established quality standards.

Must have command of PACS and be able to assist other staff members as needed.

Assists with entering MRI reports into patient’s charts.

Experience:

Two years MRI experience

Education:

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.

Special Qualifications:

BLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy

Must be able to work independently

Must display excellent interpersonal skills

This position requires local travel via personal vehicle so a valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire are required (MVR will be screened on an annual basis.)
