Responsibilities include patient care, image evaluation, and accurate documentation in the EHR, with adherence to ALARA principles and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent in related field required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
MRI-related ARRT or ARMRIT certifications required on hire.
Radiography ARRT certification, or ARDMS credential also listed.
BLS certification required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic radiological and fluoroscopic procedures with ALARA principles.
Operate and maintain imaging equipment; ensure quality assurance.
Evaluate images for technical quality; push to PACS with proper patient IDs.
Protect patients from unnecessary radiation exposure using shields and safety practices.
Perform EHR clerical tasks for patient chart documentation.

Job Summary

Provides health care services, applying pulsed radio-frequency waves and magnetic energy to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Job Summary

Essential Functions

Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiological and fluoroscopic procedures utilizing standardized positioning, As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) concepts and immobilization techniques to minimize patient movement and maximize patient safety. Produces x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist.
Proficiently operate and maintain imaging equipment through safe handling and assisting in necessary quality assurance.
Evaluates images and data for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, and pushes images to picture archiving and communication system (PACS) as the accepted electronic format for permanent patient record, assures proper identification is evident.
Ensures the protection of patients from undue exposure to radiation through the utilization of lead shields and various safety factors.
Perform EHR clerical functions related to patient chart documentation. Verifies patients’ clinical history, ensuring that information is documented and readily available to the licensed practitioner.
