Job summary

Springhill Medical Center in Mobile, AL, seeks a PRN Radiology student or ARRT-certified professional to operate MRI equipment and produce diagnostic images. Shifts include days, evenings, and weekends; set hours discussed in interview.

You will assess patient histories, screen for implant risks, manage RIS records, and ensure safety and confidentiality according to HIPAA and regulations. Pre-employment drug screening is required.

Qualifications

• Second year Radiology student or ARRT certified.
• Knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
• Experience responding to traumas and hospital emergencies.
• Operate high-field magnets and produce radiographic images.
• Analyze patient histories and screen for implants.
• Maintain patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Acquire IV access for contrast studies.
• Provide appropriate patient care and ensure exam safety.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain ongoing education for licensure.
• Comply with government regulations to ensure safety.

Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

• Must be a second year Radiology Student or ARRT certified.
• General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
• Ability to perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high-field strength magnets and related equipment and produce radiographic images of specific body parts.
• Ability to analyze patient histories and complete screenings for pacemakers or other objects that may cause injuries during the exam.
• Accurately maintain patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Ability to acquire IV access to patients needing contrasted studies.
• Provide appropriate patient care and recognize conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
• Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines.
• Responsible for maintaining continued education as required for professional licensure.
• Must be able to comply with government regulations to ensure the safety of the staff and patients as well as evaluate the scans for technical quality.
