Job summary

CARIN Alliance in Maryville, Tennessee, seeks an MRI Technologist to independently operate MRI equipment, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging across all ages for radiologists.

You will perform MRI procedures with correct positioning and protocol adherence, screen for safety, coordinate sedation, and manage room preparation and contrast administration as needed.

Qualifications

• Certification from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT or ARMRIT registration in Radiology & MRI or MRI alone; BLS certification.
• No prior experience required; candidates may be grandfathered in if currently employed.

Responsibilities

• Perform proficient MRI procedures with proper positioning, coil selection, and protocol adherence.
• Screen patients for MR safety, verify identity, and coordinate sedation needs as needed.
• Prepare scan room, maintain supplies, and administer contrast within scope; follow emergency procedures when necessary.
• Accurately record data and perform quality control on equipment and procedures.
• Provide clinical instruction to staff and students and assist with staffing and workflow coordination.

Role Overview

Responsible for independently operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images while ensuring patient safety and care across all ages.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform proficient MRI procedures, including proper positioning, coil selection, and protocol adherence to ensure timely and accurate imaging for radiologist interpretation.
• Screen patients and staff using safety questionnaires, verify identity, and communicate MR safety and clinical history. Coordinate sedation needs and inform about delays.
• Prepare the scan room, maintain supplies, and follow cleaning protocols. Administer contrast within scope and implement emergency procedures when necessary.
• Accurately record data, perform quality control on equipment and procedures, and stay updated on organizational changes.
• Provide clinical instruction to staff and students, assist with staffing and workflow coordination, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certification from an accredited Radiologic Technology program; ARRT or ARMRIT registration in Radiology & MRI or MRI alone; BLS certification.
• Proficient in computer use, data entry, and basic mathematical skills.
• No prior experience required; candidates may be grandfathered in if currently employed.
