Job summary

Intermountain Health’s St James Hospital in Butte, MT is seeking an Imaging Technologist to operate imaging equipment and produce diagnostic images under radiologist direction. The role emphasizes patient safety, image quality, and accurate record keeping.

The position requires ARRT eligibility or certification, MT licensure, and BLS; the successful candidate will participate in QA activities and may float to related departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or diploma from a two-year college or technical school or minimum 6 months related experience and/or training.
• ARRT (R) Additional Certification in at least one other modality within 18 months of hire
• Current Montana Licensure (if applicable) and BLS certification
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging equipment to produce quality images as directed by a Radiologist.
• Input physician orders into patient records and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Educate and explain imaging procedures and safety to patients to reduce anxiety.
• Monitor patients during imaging procedures and ensure radiation protection.
• May float to other departments as needed and participate in quality assurance and record keeping.
