Qualifications

• High School Diploma required upon hire.
• Registered Technologist MRI or Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT or ARMRIT MRI within 9 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Enforce magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operator and visitors.
• Monitor patient condition before and after the scan for safety and comfort.
• Explain testing procedures to ensure patient understanding and consent.
• Position and instruct the patient regarding MRI preparation.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI terminology.
• Be familiar with specific MRI coding systems.
