Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and graduate of an approved School of Radiographic Technology.
  • Experience in MRI procedures and cross sectional anatomy is preferred.
  • Be ARRT certified with MR credential or achieve within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures with attention to patient safety and image quality.
  • Corroborate clinical history and document properly for licensed practitioners.
  • Prepare patients, explain procedures, and reduce anxiety to obtain optimal results.
  • Operate MRI equipment, select appropriate protocols, and adjust scanning parameters.
  • Immobilize patients and apply magnet-related safety principles to minimize hazards.
  • Position patients to optimize visualization of areas of interest.
  • Verify documentation and assist physicians during procedures.
  • Provide physical and psychological care to patients during exams.
  • Perform venipunctures as required and manage contrast administration.
  • Maintain equipment, monitor patient safety, and ensure sterile technique.
  • Record patient histories and manage imaging data; release imaging media when authorized.
  • Participate in quality assessment, training of staff/students, and on-call duties if required.
