Job summary

Health Care Administrators Association® (HCAA) invites applications for an MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment and assist with diagnostic imaging under supervision. You will prepare patients, document histories, and ensure data integrity and safety per regulations.

The role emphasizes patient safety (ALARA), image optimization, education of students and staff, and support for interventional procedures and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required upon hire.
• Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain correct orders, properly identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and ensure patient safety following ALARA principles.
• Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and verify data storage and transfer.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, apply magnetic resonance safety principles, and assist with interventional procedures.
• Select suitable pulse sequences, perform prescribed imaging procedures, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Role Overview

MRI Technologists utilize radiofrequency within magnetic fields for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform and assist with magnetic resonance imaging procedures, acquiring and analyzing data for diagnosis under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. They also prepare, administer, and document medication activities in compliance with regulations.
