Role Overview:

MRI Technologists utilize radiofrequencies within a magnetic field to perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures. They independently conduct MRI scans, assist licensed practitioners, and prepare, administer, and document medications following legal and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain correct order, verify patient identity, prepare for exams, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
• Use appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and ensure patient safety following ALARA principles.
• Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
• Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and verify data transfer and storage.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
• Apply magnetic resonance safety principles to minimize risks.
• Assist with MRI interventional procedures and perform prescribed imaging tasks.
• Select pulse sequences considering protocols and data acquisition factors.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in assigned duties.

Qualifications & Skills

Certifications from ARRT-MR or ARMRIT, or NMTCB with ARRT-MR or ARMRIT, are required.
