The position involves per diem scheduling, on-call and holiday rotation, as well as maintaining competency through ongoing education and teamwork in a hospital radiology setting.

Qualifications

• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings required for role.
• Post high school diploma program completed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, contrast agents, MR safety and terminology.
• Maintains high accuracy in positioning and technique.
• Performs MRI procedures according to established protocols to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by the physician.
• Prepares and administers contrast at the direction of the radiologist in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Ensures delivery of quality care in a safe environment for infant through adult patients.
• Remains sensitive to patient needs through communication, monitoring and care in a non-judgmental manner.
• Engages in continuing education to enhance patient care and knowledge.
• Uses independent, professional and ethical judgment with critical thinking in duties.

Job Summary

Work Schedule: Per Diem Minimum 48 hours in a 6-week schedule; on call and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• The MR technologist demonstrates an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, contrast agents, MR safety and medical terminology.
• Maintains a high degree of accuracy in positioning and technique.
• The MR technologist performs MRI procedures according to established protocols to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by the physician.
• Prepares and administers contrast at the direction of the radiologist in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Ensures the delivery of quality care in a safe environment for infant through adult patients.
• The MR technologist remains sensitive to the physical, cultural and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner.
• The MR technologist engages in continuing education to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge and technical competence while embracing lifelong learning.
• The MR technologist uses independent, professional and ethical judgment, along with critical thinking in performance of duties.
