Job summary

Live Well Homecare is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform and assist with magnetic resonance imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality data acquisition for diagnosis.

You will prepare patients, apply imaging protocols, evaluate images for quality, and monitor safety in line with ALARA principles, while supporting staff, students, and clinicians in a collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement in imaging techniques and patient care.

Qualifications

• Certification as MR technologist (ARRT MR, ARMRIT or NMTCB with ARRT-MR required).
• Bachelor or higher in radiologic technology or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain orders, identify and prepare patients, document clinical history confidentially.
• Apply imaging protocols, optimize factors, and follow ALARA for patient safety.
• Evaluate image quality and positioning; transfer data as needed.
• Educate and supervise students and healthcare staff; ensure safety.
• Assist with interventional imaging and perform prescribed imaging.
• Choose pulse sequences per established protocols and acquisition factors.
• Participate in quality improvement and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.

Role Overview:

MRI Technologists utilize radiofrequency within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform and assist with magnetic resonance imaging procedures, ensuring accurate data acquisition and analysis for diagnosis by licensed practitioners. They prepare, administer, and document medications following legal and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain correct orders, properly identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history confidentially.
• Apply appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and prioritize patient safety following ALARA principles.
• Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and transfer data appropriately.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, ensuring safety principles are applied.
• Assist with interventional procedures and perform imaging as prescribed.
• Select pulse sequences considering established protocols and data acquisition factors.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.

Qualifications & Skills:

Certification by ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB with ARRT-MR is required. Education includes graduation from a radiologic technology specialty program; a related bachelor's degree is preferred.
