Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtain orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history with confidentiality.
• Use appropriate protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety.
• Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and verify data transfer and storage.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist with interventional procedures.
• Perform MRI scans according to established protocols, select pulse sequences, and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex tasks.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and uphold departmental priorities.

MRI Technologists utilize radiofrequencies within magnetic fields to perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging. They independently conduct or assist with MRI procedures, preparing patients, administering medications, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
