Job summary

Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility in Los Angeles County, seeks an MRI Technologist for its MRI Department on a per diem basis with 8-hour variable shifts, reporting to the Radiology Director/Supervisor.

The MRI Tech will operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images under radiologist supervision, explain procedures to patients, and ensure comfort, positioning, and safety. Certification and experience are preferred and required safety certifications must be current.

Qualifications

• CRT, ARRT-MRI, or ARMRIT/MRI Certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year MRI experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required. Must be from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.
• Explain procedures to the patient, provide comfort, positioning, and immobilize the patient on the exam table.
• Set scan parameters, monitor video display, and adjust density or contrast to optimize image quality.
• Review and evaluate computer-generated information to determine image adequacy for diagnostic purposes.
• Adhere to safety measures and government regulations to protect patients and staff.

Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking an MRI Technologist for our M.R.I. Department. This is a per diem, 8-hour variable shift position reporting to the Director/Supervisor of Radiology.

The MRI Tech candidate will be efficient in operating MRI equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes under the direct supervision of the Radiologist. The MRI Tech will explain procedures to the patient, provide comfort, positioning, and immobilize the patient on the exam table. The MRI Tech will set scan parameters, monitor video display of the area being scanned, and adjust density or contrast to improve image quality. The MRI Tech will review and evaluate computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. Use of safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
