Associate or bachelor’s in radiologic technology is required; ARRT MR certification preferred, with a minimum of 2 years MRI experience. You will explain procedures to patients and collaborate with staff to maintain high quality imaging services.

Responsibilities

• Review metal screening and history forms before exam.
• Ensure consent forms are signed prior to examination.
• Review chart for authorization approval, body part matches the office note.
• Understand MRI protocols and know when to call the Radiologist with a protocol question.
• Manually pull the patient out of the scanner if the power is down.
• Know how to use all the different MRI coils.
• Explain the MRI procedure to the patient and instruct throughout.
• Assess the patient’s condition prior to performing the MRI procedure.
• Participate in QA monitoring and accreditation efforts.
• In charge of accreditation process.
• Maintain equipment according to protocol.
• Report problems with procedures, efficiency, safety and service to supervisor.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and QA Protocol.
• Ensure MR safe equipment presence and room safety.
• Record keeping and billing information.
