Job summary

UF Health in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a qualified MRI Technician to perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and assist patients and physicians as needed. Candidates should maintain knowledge of current equipment and be informed of new scanning techniques.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED with Vocational Training, relevant certifications, and preferably experience in computerized imaging. The role also seeks individuals with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to support patients.

Qualifications

• A.R.R.T. certification with Florida Radiographer License or ARMRIT certification.
• MRI Certification within 12 months from the date of hire.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• One to two years in computerized imaging, or graduate of a post-secondary MRI certification program.

Responsibilities

• Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
• Maintain knowledge of all equipment currently in use.
• Assist patients and physicians as needed.
• Keep informed of new scanning techniques and new technology.
• Train technical staff on protocols and post-processing techniques.

Skills

Knowledge of computer software and ability to troubleshoot

Ability to provide physical and/or psychological support to patients

Education

High School Diploma or GED and Vocational Training

Graduate from Radiologic Technology School

Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology
