Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala is seeking an MRI technologist to ensure safe, accurate imaging and patient comfort. You will prep exam rooms, assist with IV contrast, and perform high-quality MRI exams following physician orders and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include educating patients, maintaining documentation in EMR/PACS, and adhering to safety standards while supporting a diverse patient population in a fast-changing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Associate [Preferred]
• 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred]
• Must maintain registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures [Required]

Responsibilities

• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
• Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the EMR and PACS systems.
• Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
• Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
