Summary
Position Highlights:
Under the broad direction of the MRI Supervisor, Radiologist and the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the Lead MRI Technologist shall oversee all technical aspects of the department and perform procedures on selected anatomy as requested by the clinician based on age appropriateness. The Lead Technologist is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply the proper scan protocols needed to visualize the anatomy in question following safe MRI practices. Acts as a Lead Technologist to the rest of the technologists in the department and have the ability to troubleshoot technical difficulties as well as possess critical decision-making abilities for safe use of the MRI scanners due to any irregularities or malfunctions.
Must be able to work scheduled, weekends and "ON CALL" hours at multiple locations, if applicable.
Must be able to rotate through multiple locations, when needed
Responsibilities:
Perform exams in all aspects of MRI.
Access veins for contrast
Oversees all MRI safety and follows proper procedure concerning any equipment malfunction
Directs and motivates others. Is responsible for the coordination, training, competencies and orientation of weekend and evening staff under the supervision of the MRI Supervisor.
