Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ARRT registered or unlimited state license.
• BLS certification required.
• Certification in another clinical imaging field (ARDMS/NMTCB) with allied health degree.
• ARRT/ARMRIT/CAMRT MR technologist certification with no experience.
• Advanced MRI certification within two years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
• Use radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Independently operate MRI equipment according to protocol.
• Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Complete timely quality control procedures per regulatory standards.
• Assist in department operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapt communication and approach to each patient population while maintaining privacy.
• Support interventional procedures requiring ultrasonic guidance.
