Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a dedicated MRI Technologist to ensure safety in the MRI environment while performing routine imaging in compliance with safety procedures. The role mentors junior staff and students and supports departmental operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, and at least 6 months of supervised MRI experience, plus ARRT certification and BLS. The position requires flexibility and travel between facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 6 months MRI clinical scanning experience required.
• Preferred — clinical MRI experience.
• ARRT registered or unlimited state license required.
• BLS from American Heart Association required.
• Advanced MRI certification within two years of employment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
• Operate MRI equipment per protocol.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Review patient images for diagnostic quality.
• Assist in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules).
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Comply with regulatory standards and safety procedures.
