Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking an MRI Technologist to prepare patients and perform MRI exams per physicians’ orders, delivering high-quality images for radiologist interpretation. You will support safety, documentation, and efficient radiology operations while aligning with the hospital’s mission and patient-centered care.

The role requires ARRT MRI certification within one year of hire, CPR certification, and at least six months of MRI experience (or completed cross-training).

Qualifications

• Six months’ relevant experience required (minimum of three in MRI OR successful completion of cross-training).
• American Heart Association CPR required.
• ARRT MRI certification within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for MRI examinations by confirming orders, verifying identities, and obtaining medical histories.
• Perform MRI examinations on all ages and maintain competencies with annual orientation.
• Greet patients and ensure courteous, confidential service and efficient communication.
• Answer phones professionally and facilitate radiology communications.
• Maintain MRI safety practices and ensure proper screening and instruction for magnet room access.
• Monitor supplies and restock to prevent interruptions in service.
• Document patient and procedural data for billing and departmental operations.
• Support performance improvement initiatives using PDCA.
