Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a PRN Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist II Acute to join our Huntersville acute care team. The role involves preparing patients and safely operating MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans across inpatient, ED, outpatient, and OR settings.

Qualified candidates will have an associate degree, ARRT MR certification, and state licensure. Experience in MR is preferred, with 6-month hire certification timelines and opportunities for growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with ARRT MR certification preferred.
• Minimum MR experience is preferred (1+ year).
• Must be ARRT MR-RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR) within 6 months of hire; state license required.

Responsibilities

What You\'ll Do

The MRI Technologist II Acute will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and safely operating the MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans in the acute setting. The acute technologist is responsible for inpatient, outpatient, the emergency department & the operating room procedures to include trauma imaging or specialized imaging for patients with implants. The technologist must possess the skills and competencies necessary to work effectively across a variety of clinical settings and is expected to either regularly work in, or rotate through, an acute care facility as part of their ongoing responsibilities.

What We're Looking For

• Education:2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or MR Program, required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in MR, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:NH Medical Center-Certified and registered by ARRT in MR - RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR) within 6 months of hire, required.
  • Applicable state license, required.
  • Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills.
