Job summary

Novant Health seeks an MRI Technologist II Acute to join our REMARKABLE acute care team at Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte. This role involves preparing patients, operating MR equipment, and assisting physicians to obtain diagnostic scans in acute settings including inpatient, ED and OR.

The ideal candidate has ARRT MR certification (registered within 6 months of hire), 1 year MR experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• For MRI Tech II Acute, ARRT MR certification (registered within 6 months of hire) and ARRT radiography background are required.
• Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography or MR program; state license required.
• Minimum MR experience: 1 year; acute care experience preferred.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and basic computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic/therapeutic MR procedures in acute settings.
• Prepare patients and safely operate MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.
• Inpatient, ED, outpatient and OR procedures; support in acute care environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• ARRT (R)(MR) or (MR) certification (registered within 6 months of hire)
• Prior acute care experience preferred

What You'll Do

The MRI Technologist II Acute will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and safely operating the MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans in the acute setting. The acute technologist is responsible for inpatient, outpatient, the emergency department & the operating room procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or MR Program, required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in MR, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification (required:
  • NH Medical Center-Certified and registered by ARRT in MR - RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR) within 6 months of hire, required.
  • Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement, required.
  • Applicable state license, required.
• Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills.
