Job summary

Mental Health Association of Rochester in Owings Mills, MD is seeking a full-time MRI Technologist II to perform routine and specialized MRI imaging procedures with clinical competency across patient populations. You will monitor safety, screen patients, administer contrast when needed, support MRI-guided procedures, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure high-quality imaging.

A strong knowledge of anatomy and MRI physics, plus the ability to communicate under stress, are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have ARMRIT or ARRT (MRI) certification and BLS at hire.
• Association degree or MRI/Radiologic certificate required.
• 3–4 years MRI experience with independent protocol performance.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI scans, selects technical factors and administers contrast as needed.
• Supports MRI-guided invasive procedures and participates in quality initiatives.
• Maintains safety protocols, screens patients and prepares environment.
• Manages supplies, performs quality control, and documents equipment issues.

Role Overview: This full-time MRI Technologist II performs routine and specialized MRI imaging procedures, demonstrating clinical competency across various patient populations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs MRI scans, selecting appropriate technical factors and administering contrast agents as needed.
• Supports invasive procedures under MRI guidance and participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintains safety protocols, screens patients, and ensures proper environment preparation to prevent risks.
• Manages departmental supplies, performs quality control, and documents equipment issues.
• Coordinates patient care, educates patients, and processes imaging for interpretation.
• Adheres to regulatory standards, maintains professionalism, and ensures compliance with safety and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Associate’s degree or accredited MRI/Radiologic Technology certificate.
• 3-4 years of MRI experience, capable of independently performing all protocols.
• ARMRIT or ARRT (MRI) certification required; BLS certification needed upon hire.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, MRI physics, patient positioning, and safety procedures.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work under stress.
