Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General's Green Health and Wellness Center is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform routine MRI exams and educate patients in a safe, comfortable environment. This PRN role offers exposure to multiple imaging modalities and coordinates with care teams to ensure high-quality images and patient care.

Minimum qualifications include ARRT certification, MR credential within one year of hire, BLS, and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy; prior imaging experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or ARRT primary pathway
• Registered Technologist credentialed by ARRT in good standing (RT(R), RT(S), or RT(T)
• OR RT(N) credential in good standing
• CNMT certification through NMTCB/ARDMS pathways
• MR imaging certification (RT MR ARRT) required within 1 year of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathology

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure.
• Acquire and review patient questionnaire and data to determine MRI contraindications.
• Verify patient screening safety form.
• Perform MRI procedures per protocol and conduct daily QA.
• Perform venipunctures.
• Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exams.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
• Assist with scheduling patients.
• Administer contrast related to MRI exams.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
• Transmit after-hours images and paperwork.
• Report malfunctions and observe equipment issues.
• Maintain equipment uptime for patient access.
• Process billing via RIS.
• Potentially rotate through imaging modalities, sites, or locations.
