Job summary

University of Miami Health System in South Florida seeks an experienced MRI Technologist I to perform complex MRI procedures, adhere to safety protocols, and deliver high-quality diagnostic images under Radiologist supervision.

You will verify orders, prep patients, administer contrast when appropriate, collaborate with physicians and staff, maintain records, and participate in on-call coverage as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology / Diagnostic Imaging Program.
• CPR and BLS certification required.
• ARRT registered and ARRT Certified in primary modality or within one year of hire.
• State of Florida License as a General Radiographer preferred.
• One year of relevant experience preferred; new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and examine orders for MRI scans and note procedures, patient condition, and comments.
• Ensure orders match exam type recommended by physician.
• Verify patient identity and obtain consents and education.
• Operate MRI scanners and related equipment following safety procedures under radiologist supervision.
• Assist radiologist with imaging, IVs, contrast administration and interventional MRI procedures.
• Evaluate MRI scans for quality and transmit to PACS.
• Maintain patient records and provide patient education; support day-to-day department operations.
