Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI exams and ensure patient safety under radiologist protocols. You will verify orders, assess risks, and coordinate with the care team to deliver high-quality imaging services.

This role requires ARRT MR certification with MR safety knowledge, patient education, and ability to respond to emergencies during exams. In-person work at the Minneapolis campus with a 0.90 FTE allocation is offered, including a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal educational Radiologic Technology program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the ARRT.
• Currently certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• MR certification (ARRT) (MRI Tech II only).
• MR certification (ARRT) within 36 months of start date (MRI Tech I only).
• Maintains minimum CEU credits as mandated by the ARRT.
• Current CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI exams under the order of a licensed medical practitioner.
• Reviews and verifies MRI exam orders, radiologist's protocol instructions, and patient identification in accordance with hospital policy to ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient.
• Assesses patient risk via patient interviews and chart review; alerts nurses/ physicians to possible contraindications for procedure.
• Obtains information from device manufacturers for radiologist to determine safety for MRI.
