Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI exams under physician orders and ensure patient safety and high-quality imaging. You will review orders, prepare patients, evaluate contraindications, administer contrast per protocol, perform venipuncture, operate MR equipment, and document findings in the electronic chart while coordinating with radiologists and staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal educational Radiologic Technology program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the ARRT.
• Currently certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Possesses MR certification (ARRT) (MRI Tech II only).
• Possess MR certification (ARRT) within 36 months of start date (MRI Tech I only).
• Maintains minimum CEU credits as mandated by the ARRT.
• Possesses current CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI exams under the order of a licensed medical practitioner.
• Reviews and verifies MRI exam orders, radiologist’s protocol instructions, and patient identification to ensure correct exam.
• Assesses patient risk and contraindications for MRI.
• Obtains information for safety determinations and pre-medication planning.
• Documents clinical information in the patient’s electronic chart and supports RF safety and infection control.
