Job summary

Merit Health River Region is seeking an MRI Technologist I to perform routine MRI procedures, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging for diagnosis. You will operate and maintain MRI equipment, prepare patients, and collaborate with radiologists to achieve optimal results.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program required.
• 0-2 years of clinical experience as a registered MRI Technologist required.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
• Reviews MRI patient questionnaires and histories to identify contraindications for safety during scans.
• Operates MRI and processing equipment following safety guidelines and protocols.
• Educates and prepares patients for MRI exams, addressing questions and ensuring comfort.
• Maintains MRI safety standards and verifies readiness before scans.
• Documents clinical history with exam findings for radiologist review.
• Maintains MRI supplies and equipment inventory and sterility.
• Verifies orders and patient identification prior to starting procedures.
• Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare team to optimize imaging results.
• Monitors MRI equipment functionality and reports issues promptly.
• Provides patient instructions during and after exams.
