Job summary

Community Health Systems seeks an MRI Technologist I to perform routine MRI procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort while producing high-quality diagnostic images.

You will operate and maintain imaging equipment, review histories for safety, and collaborate with radiologists to support diagnostic services in a hospital setting. ARRT/ARMRIT eligibility and BCLS are required or obtained within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program required
• 0-2 years of clinical experience as a registered MRI Technologist required

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images
• Reviews MRI patient questionnaires and histories to identify potential contraindications for safety
• Operates MRI and processing equipment, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols
• Educates and prepares patients for MRI exams, addressing questions to ensure comfort
• Maintains MRI safety zones and verifies patient/staff readiness before entering scan areas
• Documents and correlates clinical history with exam findings for radiologist review
• Maintains inventory of MRI supplies and equipment, ensuring sterility
• Verifies physician orders and patient identification prior to procedures
• Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare team to optimize imaging results
• Monitors MRI equipment functionality and reports issues promptly
• Provides instructions and support to patients during and after exams
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
