Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist to join the Imaging Sciences department. You will operate MRI equipment, position patients, and ensure safety and image quality across multiple scanners.

This full-time, evening-shift role requires NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits. You will train junior technologists, manage film and PACS data, and maintain documentation while upholding the university's commitment to Meliora and patient

Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Maintains current NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and utilizes MRI equipment including imaging coils and patient monitoring.
• Evaluate image quality by troubleshooting scanner or coil problems.
• Identify and compensate for imaging artifacts.
• Review MRI registration and screening forms for safe access into magnet room.
• Assist in training new MRI technologists and students.
• Perform filming, archiving and PACS data management for each patient scanned.
• Retrieves old MRI data for restoration and filming or networking.
• Master new techniques with each subsequent scanner upgrade.
• Maintains CE credits and ARRT/NYS license.
• Communicates all pertinent patient information to necessary staff.
