Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our radiology team in Maryland. You will perform MRI procedures, safety screenings, and quality control per protocol, while ensuring compliance with ACR and Joint Commission standards.

Role requires ARRT Registered Technologist status, ARRT Advanced MRI certification within 2 years, and Cerner training. Excellent customer service and flexibility to work at multiple locations are essential.

  • ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire.
  • Cerner training required.
  • Excellent customer service/telephone skills required.
  • Flexibility in hours is required.
  • Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in MRI unit operation and related systems.
  • Performs MRI procedures and quality control as per departmental protocols.
  • Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and implants before scanning.
  • Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (ACR, Joint Commission).
  • Completes all technical and non-imaging procedures within scheduled times.
  • Enters accurate patient study information into clinical care systems.
  • Assists with coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
  • Obtains clinical history and appropriate consent for examinations.
  • Verifies insurance pre-authorization per protocols before scanning.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and uses two identifiers at all times.
  • Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
  • Assesses patient for adverse reactions or status changes.
  • Proficient with contrast media injectors.
  • Performs i-STAT testing and calculates GFR per departmental policies.

Job description

• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
• Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.
• Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and research implanted devices prior to scanning.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
• Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
• Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
• Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
• Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
• Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
• Maintains patient confidentially.
• Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.
• Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
• Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.
