Carson Valley Health is seeking an MRI Technician for a full-time role in Gardnerville, NV. The role involves performing MRI procedures under the direction of a Radiologist, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining equipment. Requires ARRT or ARMRIT certification, BLS, and NV licensure if applicable, with at least two years on high-field MRI systems.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology or MRI program.
• ARRT and/or ARMRIT certification required; RT(R) or MRR preferred; BLS cert required.
• MRI certification RT(R)(MR) or obtained within first 6 months of hire preferred.
• NV State radiology license required if working with ionizing radiation modalities.
• Minimum of two years’ experience on high-field MRI systems.
• Strong communication with staff, physicians, patients, and admin personnel.

Responsibilities

• Obtain consent for contrast injection and allergy history when necessary.
• Review patient information and eligibility before imaging.
• Perform MRI procedures under radiologist supervision.
• Review patient medical history and requisitions.
• Position patient and explain procedure per protocol.
• Administer contrast as directed by physician.
• Recognize and respond to hypersensitivity reactions.
• Select appropriate protocol to obtain optimal images.
• Perform scan and post-process; archive and transmit images.
• Identify and alert radiologist to any unexpected findings.
• Maintain daily QA, conduct routine maintenance, and report system issues.

Education

ARRT – American Registry Radiologic Technologist certificate (RT(R))

ARMRIT – American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Technology

Current BLS certification

MRI – RT(R)(MR) certification or to be obtained within 6 months

NV State radiology license (if working in other ionizing modalities)

Minimum 2 years’ experience on high field magnet
